Don’t Overwash Your Face, Here are Tips On How To Best Wash Your Face

You might not realize it, but washing your face is an art. It takes much more than a bar of soap and some water to keep your face clean and healthy.
Appearance is very important to so many people, yet we don’t take the time to look after the thing that most people will be looking at first!
Today, I’m going to give you the top five most useful tips for washing your face the right way. Strap yourselves in and prepare to have a clear, clean face!
#1 Use a Natural, Gentle Cleanser
If the first thing you’re reaching for is a bar of soap, then stop! Soap isn’t the way to clean your face. Instead, use a gentle, natural cleanser. First of all, wash your face with lukewarm water, then apply the cleanser to your face. You should do this once a day, every day for maximum impact.
If you don’t use a cleanser, germs and dirt may build up causing acne, boils, and plenty of other unpleasant issues. Soap may clean off some of the dirt, but the rest will remain. A cleanser acts both as a means of removing dirt from your face as well as killing any harmful bacteria. The result is an increase in smoothness and a decrease in the risk of acne and other skin problems.
#2 Rinse, Don’t Scrub
The fastest means of drying your face after cleaning it is to scrub at it with a towel. It may be fast, but it also harms your skin in ways that you can’t immediately notice.
Instead, you should gently dab at your skin with a cloth after rinsing. The order goes like this:
- Rinse with warm water
- Cleanse the Face
- Rinse the cleanser off after five to ten minutes
- Dab the face with a gentle cloth
- Use microdermabrasion paste and apply it gently on your face
If you follow these steps, your skin will remain much healthier and will be less likely to have any problems.
#3 Use Lukewarm Water
The lukewarm rule applies to the washing of your face as well as your entire body. Whether the outside temperature is hot or cold, you should never wash your skin in hot or cold water. Lukewarm water is the safest option as it doesn’t abruptly change the temperature of your body.
Hot water would quickly dry out your skin, causing more trouble than its worth for those few minutes of comforting heat. Cold water slows blood circulation and could potentially make you sick if you remain cold for too long. Hence, lukewarm water is the safest choice.
#4 Wash Up After Sweating
When you sweat, it helps to clean out your pores, which is great. It also alleviates some toxins from your body. However, if left to dry on the skin, the sweat can also cause irritation and dryness.
For the sake of your skin, you should wash up in lukewarm water as soon as possible. Again, make sure to dab your skin dry rather than scrub, especially after sweating.
#5 Exfoliate Your Skin Once or Twice a Week
Just to clarify, you should exfoliate your skin once or twice a week if you’re using a microdermabrasion cream. If you’re using a machine, then you should exfoliate your skin once or twice a month. Exfoliating your skin helps to keep it clean, germ-free, and reduces the odds of any blemish or infection to appear.
These are just five of the many tips there are for washing your face. Make sure to follow all of these and you’ll see just how smooth and clean your face can be!
